Assalam alaykum
So…. Peeping into this blog after a million years :) …Faris and Fiza are 4 ½ years old now and have joined LKG at Carmel… yes! After going round and round Naval Public, they are very much in our dear old Mount Carmel… :) and they are really having a jolly good time creating havoc everywhere they go….
Whether it be school, whether it be their own home..or their nana nani’s home :)
I shall be writing a few blog posts just so that I note down some short convos between them and our other family members that had me in splits when I heard them…
They are talking a lot now a days… I mean.. I know it’s strange the way am saying it… but I still cant forget that first moment I had seen them … little dolls :)
And now they have become chalak chatur smart kids…:P
Khair….
The only sad part in this whole thing is that they don’t get their parents as much as we had got our parents. I mean it’s obvious that it’d be so.. but, still… I am just mentioning…..
In this post I shall mention 10 little things bout them….

• Faris absolutely and totally loves watching “Chhota Bheem” on TV, and after he trns off the TV, he goes bout the house behaving like Chhota Bheem and showing his muscles and ‘Proclaiming’ his strength to the whole world, i.e, his nana, nani and the didis. And when he feels like showing off his ‘Bheema strength’….. dishuuuummmmm….. dishuuuuummmm … Hafiza has to get the blows.

• Fiza claims to have fallen in love with a boy in her class (in Nursery.. and is continuing on in LKG) and she even says that she’ll marry him… :) however, the unfortunate boy has already been rejected by his ‘hote-hote-reh-gayi-mother-in-law’… so I don’t think the marriage would ever come to be.. :p

• None of us has seen this boy, I wont write his name coz maybe in future Fiza wud find it ridiculous to be paired wid dis particular guy, ….so, well.. none of us has seen this boy but, Hafiza , whoz kind of a nanny to the kids, has seen. And when my mummy asked her ki “****** kaisa dikhta hai?” she replied, “Bilkullll Fiza ka jaisa…. Gora, patla, mooh mein chukku”. :D

• Faris is very much desirous of breaking down his ‘nana nani ka lakdi ka ghar’. :( .. but well, he says he’ll build nana nani a BIIIIIIIGGGGGGG house when he grows up.

• They call their nana “NANU” and nani “NANIU”…. :) which I think is really sweet… coz ‘Momci’ was something that was taught to them.. but this is something they are calling on their own…. Such “OOization” of names can occur only wen we really feel for someone… I mean, at this age at least…. I have never had feelings for anyone except my abbu, mummy, aapa…. So I find this love for grandparents very sweet.

• They have learnt to write all the alphabets in caps as well as in smalls. And yesterday they both were playing with their nani ….writing on the blackboard…. Faris wrote all the alphabets .. and even asked mummy, I mean his nani, her name and wrote down the full ‘Rehana Shamim’ .. not the name by himself… but he asked her the sequence of the alphabets in her name and wrote it down…. But Miss Fiza went to the blackboard and quickly assumed the role of the teacher and started shouting.. “Koi bhi bacha aake ‘c’ likhke dikhao….KOI bhi bacha” (lookin towards Faris :P)

• We missed their homework that was to be shown on the first day of the School reopening. They were punished :( Faris baba cried a lot :( we all felt very bad :(

• Their tutor’s name is “KIRAN” :) :) which is supergood….. but it’s a male Kiran :x :( which is super bad.

• At this point of time, Faris loves drawing and Fiza loves to dance. Let’s see what hobbies they adopt.

• They are eagerly waiting for me to return coz 1) I shall be bringing them toys 2)they have been told that the key to a certain showcase is with momci and they can get it only when momci returns… this is a lie of course. And wheneve they speak to me over the phone (which is extremeliestly rare) the only things they talk to me are bout the toys and dolls that I shud get for them os that I should not forget to bring the key to the showcase……:P

More of Faris & Fiza later. :P

THE BIG FIGHT

I am writing after a real long time...it is not that i dont have time but i feel sort of confused as what to write...i am not like my sis who can go on and on ( i mean in writing not words...that to i think she rarely speaks). There are so many fights between my kids( they are 4 now) wrt toys, sleeping spaces,tv channels, car seats, parents(means us) and lots more. i want to relate incidents for each one. Lets start with toys ..By nature the hormones are meant to act in such a way in any kid that a boy gets drawn towards cars and girls towards dolls. No dont get me wrong.. even for my kids fiza is inclined towards dolls and faris towards cars but each time they play something goes wrong......................... when fiza starts playing with dolls she plays very nicely , she makes kitchens and bedroom and then she cooks ..she cooks tea and chicken and oats and then when she is in her real best ENTERS MOHAMMED FARIS.and the hormones gets reversed ...he suddenly becomes interested in everything girly.he tries to snatch away her doll and sits in the kitchen and starts making dishes of his own. Fiza as usual screams( she has a nasal twang and her shrill is all the more nasal)and then enters us ...no no we dont succeed in dissuading faris from playing dolls but we try to pacify Fiza . she rolls and pulls everybodys hair and screams and during the whole drama we get MAD. Similarly when Faris plays ...he is like cutest. he makes roads and hills out of pillows and he uses abacus(toy wala) to make the ubad khabad road and ya he uses keys to start the ignition and he has petrol pumps coz he has to refill every now and then. he has his wonderful mouth which he sincerely uses to make all sorts of noises.then Fiza feels that no ...she cant let him play so well so kick to the petrol station, kick to the various cars and again i cut and paste the whole scenario. we pacify fiza WHY????? coz by the time she kicks his cars , he lands a punch on her face or pulls her hair to the extent that it really comes out in his hands....so u see...hormones doesnt work always.

3rd BIRTHDAY

I LOVE BARBIE

When i was young i loved playing with dolls and everything which involves dressing them up like having their marriages and beauty contests or birthdays.i used to get good clothes like the laces or falls from my mother which in turn became dresses of my dolls and yes all the earrings (THE FAKE ONES) became the earrings, tika and lockets of my dolls. oh i can write pages on how to dress up a doll...really... i am good at that(i am also good at dressing human females).during our times , im talking bout the early 1980's we had only hard plastic dolls with fat stub hard hands , legs (the non bending ones) with cutest face possible...like round black or blue eyes and small stub nose and round red or pink lips with black curly hair.but i had one doll which was a gifted one from one of my vamp komolica type phuppis which was very different. she used to be my favourite, i used to show her off to my other friends ( look i have such a beautiful daughter) i remember doing wedding of my fav doll she was very beautiful coz she was unlike the others she had long legs and she was tall and slim. i really dressed up her nicely in a red color saree, the dulha was my neighbour's doll whose leg was slightly broken but then i had to get her married( u know age factor for daughters, i did not want others to point my daughters age). Miss rinki ( r family ) was the mother of my jamai and then the wedding happened , i took my doll there in her house , rinki's mother had prepared a light snacks for us. we ate and then i left my doll there ( in a hope that i will get my daughter back maybe a day later or maybe some days later). Rinki and i used to play a lot so after some days i went there to get my doll back and know what happened ... she was not there not even a trace of her...when i asked rinki about it she told me that her grandma has kept it somewhere( it is so bad not allowing the mother to meet her daughter that also a newly wed). after long long days i kept trying but they used to shove me off and one day the reply came from her grandma that while putting the garbage to fire she had by mistake put my doll to fire....SHE PUT MY DOLL TO FIRE....(she burnt my daughter within few days of the wedding)I was shell shocked , iwonder how can they be so neglectful about my doll that they did not see her while throwing or that what my doll was doing in the garbage which they threw in the fire.(there were a lot of questions whether i did not give any dowry with my daughter but her son was lame, one of his legs had a problem and my daughter ...she was like amodel dressed up in such a beautiful red saree, whether they made her work in the garbage and then may be just pushed her in the fire whilw she was working, whatever the reson i lost my daughter after a few days of her wedding) I LOST MY DOLL...... i came home crying and my mother and my grandma tried to console me that might be rinki never wanted to give that doll back so they made up such a plan( a crooked plan but i jus wanted to meet my daughter and not take her away...well ...maybe take her away for couple of days or maybe one day but they seperated a mother and daughter forever for whcih they will pay one day). The next time i had a doll's wedding was when my sister was around 5... well u can guess my age then (certainly not a doll playing age) now this wedding was of my stub doll with the male doll of my sis(actually i purposely made her mother of the son coz i will get the chance to decorate and dress up the female doll, moreover no chances again by sending my doll to someone else's home) tanki's doll had a problem with the eye ( i always get defective males u see). This time my mother prepared some snacks and i was dressed in a brocade sharara, i applied make up to my sis as well as my friend simmi( she is also a 21 st april born though 2 years younger). i had taken some snaps . i will try uploading it some time ( which will never come) so this time the doll sstayed with me ...i was so happy.
tanki was exposed to THE WORLD OF BARBIES from the childhood( well they were my secret desires actually) here was a doll that every girl dreamed to be , beautiful, lovely, gorgeous, wearing perfect dresses on their perfect bodies, beautiful hairs which u can actually comb and make different styles, had extra dresses and accessories. ok we gifted her one and then it was followed by many others and me and my sis used to keep a count on how much she has accumulated ( like it was bank balance or something) i think she has 14 barbie dolls and many sets like doctor, dining etc . she was not very fond of playing ( she is very strange )we used to cherish each & every doll. and now when iam 30 ( keep it a secret) the dolls are still fine , imean they are as good as new.( u see tanki never played with them ...strange na..).my kids started getting barbies from their 1st birthday and i think the number has risen to almost 12 - 14 ( now i don't keep a count) till date and not a single barbie is with all her limbs in place. the first thing my son does to a barbie doll is removing her dress( typically male ...uhm), the next thing is removing her limbs one by one and finally her head is off from her body( sadist...uh). then he plays with the limbs and the body is just left somewhere and i always find the limbs or head or body from somewhere and remember the days when these barbies used to hold such high place in my childhood.barbie reminds me my childhood...my days with tanki...contest of barbie...how i used to enjoy playing much more than her.One day fiza was busy searching something under the bed, i asked her what was that , so she told me 'barbie doll ka body'(th word body used by mani so fiza learnt from her). Then she narrated me the entire story'bhai barbie doll ka shab hath nikal diya, shab pel nikal diya aur sar nikal diya, fija shab body mein lagaegi'. then i told all my maids(i have brigade of 3) to hunt for the body and finally we got it under the diwan and all the limbs were put back in place and head of course and the dress.i was HAPPY. I AM ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE A BARBIE.

THE STORY'S IMPACT

Before writing this post i want to make clear that my kids had started using 'galis' like 'kutta & sala' with the correct gender.it was like everybody was a 'kutta' or a 'kutti' 'saala' or a 'saali' if they did anything which they did not approve of. Then it became more of a play for them , we used to get a welcome by faris by these words when coming from bank. Their fav victim was 'bada baba' (my jethji). The DGM of ANIIDCO used to get 'kutta' & 'saala' every day by them and gets it still. Though I ve told bhaiya so many times to stop talking to them so that they realiz that they are wrong. well he won't listen....
so now shifting a little from the main track of the post .................every night when i make my farisu sleep i tell him a story( which is the same every day...thank god they don't want a different one each night)about a beautiful pari who will come in their dreams when they will close their eyes. And that the pari will bring lot of thingschips;pink dresses(for fiza); red dresses(for faris);chocolates;planes;cars;barbie dolls;powder;many new toys etc etc(i name the things till i become breathless ).I tell him this story religiously and every next day in the morning i ask them whether the pari came, never did farisu said that 'yes she came'One fine day when i asked him whether pari came in his dreams , he said 'yes'. my god i was so happy that i was able to make an impact on them and finally pari did come in their dreams.... i asked him so what did pari say to bhai and my dear son faris said 'SAALA KUTTA'.I stopped the story from that night.

BEACH KE BEECH MEIN

Fiza hates beaches, she hates sand sticking to her foot jus like me...she is sooooo like me from the nose...eyes...everything. But ya she has quite a glamour for a 3 year old...
Faris was as usual his playful self but yes he was afraid of water, he brought a lot of small stones from far of and then throw it in water.
